High levels of minerals like Magnesium and Calcium can be the reason for the white screen on your dishes. If you live in an area that has hard water, use a rinse agent or a dish detergent booster to improve cleaning results.

Drainage issues can come from several different sources. For example, it can be food debris blocking the drain, clogged dishwasher filter or a clogged drain hose.

You may be able to access the machine’s drying fan by removing the control panel with a multi-bit screwdriver. Check to see if the debris is preventing the fan from turning properly. Try cleaning the fan and the blades to see if this improves performance.

There is one more reason why your dishwasher could be running too long – the sensor. If your dishwasher has a feature like the “automatic wash cycle” or “sensor wash”, some dirt or mineral build-up on the sensor may cause the dishwasher to run longer than normal.

Your drain hose may be clogged which would directly cause the food particles to NOT get drained out. The drain hose is under the sink. Open the cabinet next to the dishwasher and you will see a drain hose coming from the dishwasher. Many times it goes to the garbage disposer. Detach the hose with a bowl or bucket under it as water may spill out. Clean out the drain hose to be sure water flows freely through it. You may find small objects blocking it such as popcorn kernels, beans, pieces of glass, paper, and other items.
